Indian Navy invites applications from Unmarried Indian Citizens (Men and Women) for Short Service Commission (SSC) as Pilot / Oberver in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for course commencing Dec 2014 at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala. Educational Qualifications:
General Candidates -> A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 70% marks. Should have qualified 10+2 level with Mathematics & Physics.
CPL Holders -> A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. Should have qualified 10+2 level with Mathematics and Physics. The candidate must be holding valid and current CPL issued by DGCA (India).
Physical Standards:
(a) Height and Weight -> Minimum height for men 162.5 cms and for women 152 cms with correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length.
(b) Eye Sight -> The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6. Should not be colour/night blind.
(c) Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist end or on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on case to case basis.

Educational Qualifications: Completed BE/B.Tech Degree with minimum 65% marks in aggregate from a recognised university in one of the following specified streams
Physical Standards:
Height and Weight -> Minimum height for male -157 cms with correlated weight.
Eye Sight -> Technical ('E' & 'L') & Technical Submarine Specialisation - 6/24 6/24 (without Glasses), 6/6 6/6 (with Glasses); Executive (GS)/Hydro Cadre - 6/12 6/12 (without Glasses), 6/6 6/6 (with Glasses)
Selection Process:
(a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal /Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam during May - Oct 2014.
(b) SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage I test consisting of intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).
(c) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(d) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstance.

Professional Qualification: The candidate should be in possession of Grade-5 certificate or above for Piano, from any of the recognised board such as Trinity College of London, associated board of Royal School of Music or London College of Music or Bangalore Conservatory of Music.
Musical Ability: The candidate must have the ability to play a Brass instrument such as Trumpet/ Comet, Horn, Euphonium, Baritone or a woodwind instrument such as Western Fluet. Clarinet. Oboe or any Bow string instrument such as Violin Viola Cello. A fundamental knowledge of the Pianoforte is mandatory for all candidates. The candidate must possess one of the following diplomas/equivalents:-(a) LRAM (b) ARCM (c)ATCL.
Experience: Candidates submitting proof of experience in teaching music at a registered Msic Academy / Institution will be preferred.
